About

At Movement Matters, we know how physically demanding life can be.

Our mission is simple:

To empower people through embodied fitness practices that support recovery, strength, and meaningful connection with their loved ones.

Drawing inspiration from dance, yoga, martial arts, and contact improvisation, we focus on sustainable movement practices that help people rebalance, rebuild, and fully enjoy the physicality of life.

Me

I live in Devon, England, with my husband of 18 years Richard and young daughter Owren, and near stepkids Coral and Rowan (in their 20s) and our grandson Tommy. A lifelong dancer, somatic researcher, and expert in contact improvisation, I have taught movement in universities, dance festivals, and health settings for over seventeen years.

I founded Movement Matters after facing my own physical challenges as a new mom: co-sleeping, cradling, and carrying did not seem as painless or straightforward as I expected: my back was sore, hips uneven, shoulders stiff, and nerves were fried.

Determined to create a pain-free, active life that served both my own and my family's well-being, I developed practical approaches to fitness that now support women everywhere.

With a focus on sustainable movement and joyful play, I bring my expertise and personal experience into my training and teaching work, helping women, moms/mums, and people move through life with strength and ease.
